If you know my photography at all, you know that I’m not into gimmicky photos, so naturally I’ve always been a little skeptical of fisheye lenses. Normally, I don’t like the way they distort the image. But given that I was shooting 12 shows for iHeart Radio’s Jingle Ball 2013, I thought, “Why not rent a fisheye lens and play around?”
I learned two tricks to getting a successful photo with a fisheye: 1. Keep your camera level and 2. Your subject should be in the very center of the shot- the part that is least distorted. Check out these examples below!
