Hi, I'm Brian.

Photographer // Dog Lover // Jazzhead

I'm Brian Friedman, and my passion is photography.

As a full-time resident of Las Vegas, I am thrilled to be able to pursue my passion for photography on a daily basis. What started out as a hobby back in 2005 has now become a reality as I embark on my career as a professional photographer. Capturing the essence of people and events through my lens has opened up a world of opportunities and experiences beyond my wildest dreams. My love for photography continues to grow with each shoot, as I strive to create art from the moments I see. I feel privileged to have access to some of the most unique and captivating moments, and I take this responsibility very seriously. Whether I'm backstage at an event, up close with a subject, or among the audience, my goal is always to accurately capture the true essence of what's happening before me.

Photographer Brian Friedman started out as a road manager for the legendary jazz drummer Roy Haynes. But it was during Haynes’ 20-city tour, that Brian began photographing Roy and discovered his passion for image making that put him on a road to a new career. Since then, he has sharpened his skills and his eye to become recognized as a photographer of choice by noted entertainment personalities, corporate leaders, event planners and discerning individuals. His clients include iHeartRadio, Clearchannel Communications, NBC, CBS, 20th Century Fox, and comedians Brian Regan and Bill Burr, to name a few. Brian’s images have appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, People, Playboy, The Economist, and Pollstar to name a few. In 2007-2008 Brian had the distinct honor of photographing Barack and Michelle Obama for the Obama for America campaign. Recently Brian was given a 5 page live concert photography spread in M Music & Musician’s magazine – a first for that publication. To all of these assignments, Brian brings the same level of imagination and creativity that has distinguished his vision and his work for more than a decade.

 

Why Photography?

Because photography connects me to people, and that is essential in my life. Experiencing things, documenting it all along the way with my camera, is what I was meant to do.

10 Things To Know About Me

01 - I love dogs. Like....A LOT.

02 - I'm a drummer, but now I'm learning how to play the bass!

03 - I live for my family and my friends.

04 - In my 20's I worked in the comedy world, most notably with Ray Romano.

05 - I am a born and raised New Yorker, but in 2017 I decided to move out West and live in Henderson, NV, just outside of Las Vegas.

06 - My absolutely favorite genre of music is jazz. I wanted to be a jazz drummer but instead decided to become a photographer.

07 - The first time I eat at a new Italian restaurant I either have the chicken parm, or linguine with white clam sauce.

08 - My favorite type of exercise is tennis! I play competitively in the USTA!

09 - If I won the lottery I would donate to my favorite charities and start my own dog sanctuary for rescues!

10 - I would drop everything to be Lady Gaga's tour photographer.

Back in 2013, I had the honor of photographing D’Angelo during a performance I’ll never forget at @brooklynbowl, where he played alongside the incredible @questlove He was completely in his zone — eyes closed, keys flowing, soul wide open. The light above him feels even more symbolic now.
Voodoo remains one of my top 10 albums of all time. It’s a masterwork — rhythm, vulnerability, groove, genius. Thank you, D`Angelo, for the music that shaped so much of our lives.
